Affairs of the HeART

Art is a matter of perception. In a world where defined borders and languages facilitate identities and conversations, art is an in-between, it thrives to create an identity and remains open to
interpretation. In the political sense, it represents the ‘ism’ of the right, left and center, and in some cases, strives to find a common ground. Space where thoughts from all sides would merge and
create a caricature that is distinct but acceptable to all.

The inception of art happens in the human mind, but it is an artist who gives it a form and function. In doing so he/she adds worth to the medium. If we were to observe the elements of faith that bind us today, it is easier to understand its influence.

On close observation, we realize that art is not only adding value but also personifying an entity that we all like to believe. And In doing so it is giving a form to the formless and a voice to the
voiceless.

To elaborate further, sculptures of gods and goddesses are crafted using non-living elements like stone, marble, mud, and more. The divine form addresses countless human beings and brings different sections of society together. So the art of sculpting has given a voice and form to an idea of a god that was otherwise abstract.

As a contemporary artist, I strive to bring in the same kind of inclusivity in my work through cardboard. The idea is also to reach out to a broader audience on a global level. And I know there will
be somebody on the other side of the world who would understand my analogy, who would understand me and the intent of my art.

And once it happens, it will be an affair to remember, it will be an affair of the heart through art!
